The President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Lin Songtian, met with Jeff Green, the Chairman of the Flying Tigers Legacy Fund, and Flying Tigers veteran Melvin McMullen at the Consulate General of China in San Francisco. Consul General Zhang Jianmin and members of the delegation also attended the meeting. Jeff and Melvin presented Flying Tigers flight jackets to President Lin and Consul General Zhang.
The two sides exchanged views on conducting Flying Tigers commemorative activities and mutual visits of the Flying Tigers Friendship School between China and the United States, and reached a consensus. President Lin stated that the Chinese people will never forget the contribution of the Flying Tigers to China, and the spirit of the Flying Tigers will be passed down from generation to generation. The friendship and cooperation between the Chinese and American peoples are a common blessing. The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries will fully support and participate in the activities held by the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation in China.
During World War II, the people of China and the United States united to defend China’s airspace, leaving a precious common heritage. The mission of the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation is to reignite the spirit of cooperation between the people of China and the United States by conducting a series of activities to jointly contribute to aerospace technology, science, business, and exploration, and to educate the younger generation to inherit the heroism of their ancestors. We will provide more opportunities for cooperation.
The main goal of the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation is to promote friendship and understanding between the United States and China by engaging in feasible dialogue on our shared aviation history.
